Liverpool picked up a 2-1 win over Sheffield United in the Premier League earlier today at Anfield.

Today’s win takes the defending champions back to the top of the table, level on points with bitter rivals Everton.

Sander Berge gave the away side their lead on the 13th minute with a well taken penalty.

Roberto Firmino scored the equalizer on the 41st minute. The Brazilian scored from a rebound after the Sheffield United keeper pulled off a stunning save from Sadio Mane’s header.

Diogo Jota headed Liverpool ahead on the 64th minute after a fantastic cross from Sadio Mane.

Although the Reds were not at their best they will be reasonably pleased with their performance tonight especially after having played in the midweek against Ajax.

Liverpool will have to keep grinding out results like this if they want to win the league title once again especially in a hectic schedule like this season.

Sheffield United have a lot to be happy about and they will be heading back with their heads held high.

The away side managed to put Liverpool under constant pressure and they could have easily taken a point from the game on another day.

With the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City dropping points today, Liverpool will be delighted to pull further clear of their title rivals.

It will be interesting to see if the Reds can build on this and put together a winning run in the League now.
