Man City 4-0 Crystal Palace: Stones, Gundogan, Sterling hand City Premier League advantage

Manchester City picked up a 4-0 win over Crystal Palace in the Premier League earlier tonight.

Defender John Stones scored a brace to inspire Manchester City to a comfortable win.

Manchester City were in firm control from the start and John Stones scored the opening goal of the game after heading in Kevin De Bruyne’s cross on the 26th minute.

Manchester City could have  doubled their advantage through Gabriel Jesus but the Brazilian’s header was saved by Vicente Guaita.

The home side eventually doubled their advantage after half time when Ilkay Gundogan found the net with an effort from 20 yards.

John Stones scored his second of the game and Manchester City’s third a few minutes later.

Raheem Sterling wrapped up the scoring with a spectacular free-kick two minutes from time to record a fifth straight Premier League win for Manchester City.

Manchester City are now up to second in the Premier League table two points behind Manchester United.

Pep Guardiola‘s side have a game in hand and they will climb to the top of the table if they manage to win that one.

 Meanwhile Crystal Palace at 13th in the Premier League table with 23 points now.

It will be interesting to see if Manchester City can continue their excellent run of form and win their game in hand now. They are one of the favourites to win the league and Guardiola will now want to build a lead at the top of the table.
