The Premier League champions are said to be monitoring the situation of Lewandowski.

Manchester City‘s long-standing interest in Harry Kane is no secret as they intend to strengthen their striker position following the departure of Sergio Aguero.

Despite their willingness to splash the cash, City had their £100m bid rejected for the English striker by Tottenham, who are keen on holding on to their talisman next season.

Now, Citizens are forced to look towards alternatives, and Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowksi has emerged on their wishlist.

The Polish striker is one of the best players in the world at the moment, following his breathtaking campaign with Bavarians last term, racking up more than 50 goals.

He followed up with an impressive European Championship campaign, scoring 3 goals, although Poland couldn’t get past the group stage.

Despite being 32, Lewandowski is showing no signs of slowing down and looks much hungrier than ever.

However, his exit links have emerged lately after the Polish man is said to be interested in a new challenge, with Chelsea and Real Madrid showing interest.

Man City are the latest to join the suitors’ list as they are aware of Lewandowski’s situation at Allianz Arena as his contract expires in two years. The Bavarians could be forced to sell him for a lower fee next summer.

Pep Guardiola would be more than happy to reunite with the Polish international, who is currently at the peak of his powers.

Furthermore, he will have a similar upward trajectory under the tutelage of the Spanish boss like he had during Hansi Flick’s reign.

The City would be paying a lesser amount for Lewandowski than top target Kane. Given that he can perform at the highest level for three or four years, the Polish striker would be an excellent signing for the Premier League champions.
