Manchester United have reportedly put an £80million price tag on England striker Marcus Rashford in a move to fend off interest from interested clubs.

Rashford has been at United since 2005 but is about to enter the final six months of his contract.

Many clubs are interested in his services and are looking to take advantage of his contract situation to get him for cheap.

However, Manchester United have the option to extend the 25-year-old contract by a further year and are keen to negotiate for a longer-term contract.

But the Old Trafford side find themselves in a precarious position with Rashford, yet to commit his long-term future to his boyhood club.

French giants Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid are believed to be interested to take Rashford on a free transfer should he run down his contract at Old Trafford.

However, according to the Daily Star, United have reportedly told clubs to pay £80m if they want Rashford as they ‘fear’ they may be forced to sell the England international.

Real Madrid are reportedly in the lead for his signature as they seek a successor to Karim Benzema.

Meanwhile, PSG have once again reiterated their interest in signing Rashford.

The French side were keen on signing the Englishman last summer but could not strike an agreement with United.

But now club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has revealed that his side could make a move if he is available as a free agent.

He told Sky Sports: “He’s another player that is really amazing. And for free? To have Rashford for free, every club would run after him, definitely.”

“We’re not hiding it. We spoke before and… interest. But the moment was not a good moment for both sides. Maybe summer, why not?

“Today, if he’s a free agent, of course, we can talk to him directly, but we are not going to talk to him now. Let him focus on the World Cup. Then after in January, hopefully, if we’re interested, we will talk to him.”
