Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah is reportedly closing in on a contract extension at the Premier League club.

According to a report from the mirror, the 29-year-old is set to handle the Premier League giants a boost by committing his future to the club.

The player reportedly rejected an offer of around £400,000 a week from Liverpool to renew his contract a few weeks ago. However, he has had a change of heart and he is willing to scale down his demands in order to extend his stay at Anfield.

 Apparently, the Liverpool forward was demanding wages of around £500,000 a week to stay at Merseyside.

The 29-year-old is one of the best players in the world and his decision to stay at Liverpool will delight the Liverpool fans.

The player has a contract with the Premier League giants until the summer of 2023 and he was being linked with the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona.

It remains to be seen whether the two parties can finalise an agreement and make a formal announcement in the coming weeks now.

The Egyptian international has been in outstanding form for Liverpool this season and the Reds will be hoping that he can help them win the Premier League title and the Champions League.

Salah has 28 goals to his name across all competitions so far this season and he will be hoping to finish the season on a high by winning a few trophies.

The Egyptian has already helped Liverpool win the Premier League and Champions League during his time at the club and the Reds have a great opportunity of winning those trophies once again this season.
