Newcastle United Transfer News: Darwin Nunez among four strikers linked with summer moves

Newcastle United Ashley agrees £300m takeover deal

Newcastle United are reportedly keen on signing the Benfica striker Darwin Nunez this summer.

The 22 year old Uruguayan international has established himself as one of the hottest young prospects in European football right now and he has been linked with the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool as well.

The Magpies will need to sign a top-class goalscorer in order to challenge for European qualification next season and Nunez would be a massive upgrade on the likes of Callum Wilson and Joelinton.

The European international has been in breathtaking form this season and he has scored 34 goals across all competitions for Benfica.

Meanwhile, the likes of Dominic Calvert Lewin and Patrick Schick are options for Newcastle as well according to a report from the Mirror.

The Premier League side could also look to rival the likes of AC Milan and Inter Milan for the Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca as per Sportwitness.

The 23-year-old has been quite impressive for solar this season and he has the potential to develop into a top-class striker in the future.

The Magpies certainly have the financial resources to pull off these transfers and it will be interesting to see whether they can convince the top players to move to St James’ Park in the summer.

Newcastle were initially languishing in the relegation zone earlier this season but they are now in with a chance of finishing in the top half after an impressive revival under Eddie Howe.

They have the richest owners in football right now and an ambitious summer transfer window is very much on the cards for the Magpies.
