Sir Alex Ferguson’s message to Jurgen Klopp on title win

Klopp confirms Liverpool departure date

Jurgen Klopp recently led Liverpool to their first Premier League title in thirty years and he was chosen as the LMA manager of the year last night.

Former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson heaped praise on the German manager and his team for their achievements this year.

Klopp and Ferguson share a mutual respect and admiration towards each other despite managing two clubs who are bitter rivals.

The Liverpool manager revealed that he admires the former Manchester United boss and meeting him for breakfast was like meeting the Pope

Similarly, Ferguson also praised Klopp’s personality and attitude.

The former Manchester United manager said: “Jurgen, fantastic. We speak about Leeds spending 16 years in the Championship, but Liverpool, 30 years since winning that league, incredible. You thoroughly deserved it, but the performance level of your team was outstanding. Your personality runs right throughout the whole club. It was a marvelous performance. I’ll forgive you for waking me up at 3.30 am to tell me you have won the league! Thank you, but anyway, you thoroughly deserved it. Well done.”

Ferguson also congratulated Leeds United on their return to the Premier League after 16 years. Marcelo Bielsa was named as the LMA Championship manager of the year for his stellar management of the Whites this season.

It will be interesting to see if Leeds and Liverpool can now build on their achievements from this season and go on to exceed expectations once again next year.
