Wolves

Despite sacking Bruno Lage, Wolverhampton Wanderers continue to simmer in the lower part of the Premier League table after playing 13 rounds of games.

The hosts currently sit in 19th place in the Premier League table after winning just two league games this season (D4, L7).

After recording a 4-0 loss to Leicester in their last Premier League (PL) home outing, the club’s supporters jeered staff for their involvement in a torrid run of just one win in seven PL contests (D1, L5).

However, the budding tension was slightly stayed last time out as the hosts came from behind to a 1-1 draw to Brentford, although they lost Diego Costa to a red card in the game.

Meanwhile, there might be some good news as ex-Spain manager Julen Lopetegui has reportedly entered talks for the managerial position. In the meantime, the relegation-threatened West Midlands outfit will be looking to get just their third win of the campaign against a Brighton side that they have lost to once in the last seven games between them.

However, with a toothless attack that has scored just six goals this season and with striker Diego Costa not available for this game, interim manager Steve Davis has hinted that he may now have to try ‘’something different’’ with his selections here as he attempts to solve his side’s scoring problems and push them out of the relegation zone.

Possible Wolves starting line-up

Injured: Matheus Nunes, Toti Gomes, Pedro Neto, Sas Kalajdzic, Raul Jimenez

Doubtful: None

Suspended: Diego Costa

Brighton

Brighton finally got the reward for all their labour under Roberto De Zerbi last weekend when they ran out 4-1 winners over Chelsea.

The visitors have performed admirably under the former Shakhtar boss since his arrival but could not turn performance into result until last time out when they blew apart a Chelsea team that is managed by former boss Graham Potter.

In an entertaining game at the AMEX Stadium, Brighton scored three times in the first half–the third time they’ve scored three first-half goals in a PL game. It was also their 100th PL win that kept them firmly placed at mid-table ahead of this round.

After the game, the manager stated that the “fans were the best player” and he will be hoping the travelling fans who have stuck to him despite a poor start to his managerial campaign will turn up at the Molineux as they battle for a second consecutive win in the league for the first time since August.

However, Brighton will need to perform better in this game, as they are currently winless in four PL away games (D1, L3), whilst conceding at least twice on each occasion, meaning even a struggling Wolves may smell blood in a leaky backline.

Possible Brighton starting line-up

Robert Sanchez; Lewis Dunk, Adam Webster, Pervis Estupiñán; Solly March, Alexis Mac Allister, Moisés Caicedo, Leandro Trossard; Pascal Groß, Kaoru Mitoma; Adam Lallana.

Injured: Jakub Moder

Doubtful: Joel Veltman

Suspended: None
