Chelsea are thought to be closing in on the signing of Romelu Lukaku from Inter Milan.

According to the latest reports, the Belgian international has agreed on a five-year contract with the Blues, and he will earn around £212,000 a week at Stamford Bridge.

The report further adds that Inter Milan are now expected to accept Chelsea’s improved bid of around £100-110 million for the striker.

Thomas Tuchel is keen on improving his attacking options this summer, and the Blues were linked with a move for Erling Haaland as well.

However, Borussia Dortmund are not keen on selling the Norwegian this summer, and Chelsea have now decided to pursue Lukaku instead.

The 28-year-old has developed into one of the best strikers in the world, and he would be an impressive upgrade on the likes of Tammy Abraham and Timo Werner.

The Blues managed to win the Champions League last season, and they will be hoping to build on that and challenge for the Premier League title this time around.

Chelsea have an impressive squad at their disposal, but goal scoring has been a problem for them.

Lukaku should be able to sort out their attacking issues and help them close in on Manchester City.

The Belgian helped Inter Milan win the Italian league title last year, and he scored 30 goals across all competitions for them.

Lukaku struggled to make his mark at Stamford Bridge during his previous spell with the club, and he will feel that he has unfinished business at Chelsea.

The player has already proven his quality in the Premier League with Everton, West Brom and Manchester United. He will be hoping to show his qualities at Chelsea now.
