AC Milan

After a poor outing in midweek, AC Milan return to Serie A action with their tails tucked in between their legs after their midweek loss to Chelsea in the Champions League.

The Italian Champions were out-muscled and out-classed by their Chelsea who were just too brilliant for Stefano Pioli’s side who offered very little going forward and defensively, and eventually fell to a 3-0 defeat in London. The Italian tactician will now look to regroup his team for a crunch tie against Juventus.

AC Milan secured a Scudetto win last season by the slightest margin but now sit outside the top four, three points behind League leaders Napoli. The Rossoneri will be keen to avoid any more dropped points after losing to Napoli over a fortnight ago.

However, the champions come into this game off the back of an impressive 1-3 victory over Empoli last weekend, a win Stefano Pioli termed a team victory. The Italian tactician will now be looking for a positive reaction from his boys when they play host to Old Lady.

AC Milan have had a slight upper hand in the last five encounters with Massimiliano Allegri’s side, with just one defeat in their last five meetings, and two wins, with two draws which came over both legs last season.

Possible AC Milan starting line-up

Anton Tatarusanu; Davide Calabria, Pierre Kalulu, Fikayo Tomori, Fode Ballo-Toure; Sandro Tonali, Ismael Bennacer; Alexis Saelemaekers, Charles De Ketelaere, Rafael Leao; Olivier Giroud.

Injured: Alessandro Florenzi, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Divock Origi, Davide Calabria, Theo Hernandez, Mike Maignan

Doubtful: Simon Kjaer

Suspended: None

Juventus

Juventus secured a 3-1 win over Israeli side Maccabi Haifa in midweek to give their Champions League campaign a boost.

An Adrien Rabiot brace and a Dusan Vlahovic strike ended the Old Lady’s losing streak in the UEFA competition.

Juventus have now recorded back-to-back victories for the first time this season, and come into this game against AC Milan in the best possible shape.

Massimiliano Allegri will be keen to see his side build on the momentum and secure all three points against the Rossoneri who sit four points above them.

The Old Lady have been a shadow of themselves since their last Scudetto-winning season back in 2020. The Italian heavyweights have made a move to return to the pinnacle of Italian football, and a win over their eternal rivals will take them a step closer to the top four.

Possible Juventus starting line-up

Wojciech Szczesny; Danilo, Leonardo Bonucci, Bremer, Alex Sandro; Weston McKennie, Adrien Rabiot, Manuel Locatelli, Filip kostic; Dusan Vlahovic, Arkadiusz Milik.

Injured: Marley Ake, Paul Pogba, Federico Chiesa, Kaio Jorge, Daouda Peeters
