Inter Milan

After an embarrassing outing last time out, Inter Milan will look to get back to winning ways when they host Jose Mourinho’s AS Roma side in Milan this Saturday.

Simone Inzaghi’s side entered into the International break with a shock 3-1 loss to high-flying Udinese, a loss which saw them drop to seventh place, two points away from the top four and five points away from first-placed Napoli.

The Nerazzurri have been a shadow of the team they were last season, conceding eleven goals in seven games to secure one of the worst defensive records among the teams in the top ten in the Italian Serie A.

Up-front, the continued absence of Romelu Lukaku has meant that the team’s attacking duty relies heavily on Lautaro Martinez and the ageing Edin Dzeko. The Belgian continues to be sidelined and may not be up for selection when Jose Mourinho’s side come into town.

Inter Milan have been utterly dominant in this fixture in recent times, picking up four wins in their last five encounters with the capital club. And despite their recent slip-up, Simone Inzaghi’s men will fancy their chances of getting all three points against Jose Mourinho’s side and extend their unbeaten run against the Giallorossi.

Possible Inter Milan starting line-up

Samir Handanovic; Stefan de Vrij, Milan Skriniar, Alessandro Bastoni; Denzel Dumfries, Nicolo Barella, Kristjan Asllani, Hakan Calhanoglu, Robin Gosens; Edin Dzeko, Lautaro Martinez.

Injured: Alex Cordaz

Doubtful: None

Suspended: Marcelo Brozovic

AS Roma

AS Roma on the other hand have seen their early season unbeaten run halted by Udinese in game week five and have since lost to Atalanta before the international break.

Jose Mourinho’s side fell to a Giorgio Salvini’s solitary strike in the 35th minute and the visitors held on to see out the win despite threatening to equalise on several occasions.

With tensions rising in the later stages of the game, Jose Mourinho got his marching orders after protesting a perceived foul on Nicolo Zaniolo by Caleb Okoli. The red card ultimately rules him out for the trip to Inter Milan and the Portuguese coach will be hoping that his coaching staff can do the job and get a good result against Inter Milan.

AS Roma established themselves as title contenders with their early season form and will be looking to return to winning ways to keep their shot at the title alive and keep pace with the League leaders.

Possible AS Roma starting line-up

Rui Patricio; Gianluca Mancini, Chris Smalling, Roger Ibanez; Zeki Celik, Bryan Cristante, Nemanja Matić, Leonardo Spinazzola; Paulo Dybala, Lorenzo Pellegrini; Tammy Abraham

Injured: Georginio Wijnaldum, Ebrima Darboe, Rick Karsdorp

Doubtful: None

Suspended: None
