Juventus 0-3 AC Milan: 3 Talking Points as Andrea Pirlo’s side slip to fifth in Serie A

Rebic-AC Milan

AC Milan produced a stunning 3-0 win against Juventus at Allianz Stadium to move to third in Serie A table. Meanwhile, the Old Lady’s horrible season continues, and they are at the risk of missing the Champions League after falling back to fifth place. Brahim Diaz provided the opener right before half time, and Milan went on to add two more in the second half, with Ante Rebic and Fikayo Tomori finding the scoresheet.

Lacklustre Juventus from attack to defence

Juve’s late comeback win against Udinese was flattering to deceive as they succumbed to a heavy defeat against Stefano Pioli’s men. Starting from defence, both Chiellini and De Ligt were far from their best and not to mention goalkeeper Szczesny, whose blunder helped Milan to break the deadlock through Diaz. The Old Lady’s attack turned out to be even worse as they registered only one shot on target despite having Alvaro Morata and Cristiano Ronaldo at their disposal. Ronaldo ghosted for the entire game as he hardly made his presence in the final third.

Milan breaks a winless streak at Allianz Stadium

Milan were clinical with their chances, which can be seen from the outstanding goals of Diaz and Rebic. Not only the win handed them a firm hold in the top four race, but it also helped them break the decade-long winless streak at the home of Juventus.

Juve’s chances of top-four hanging in the balance

None could have predicted that Juventus would lose the Scudetto and might as well the Champions League under Andrea Pirlo. Juve have reached new lows this season, with many calling for the managerial change next season. The Bianconeri are three points off the fourth-placed Napoli and will depend on others results to know about their fate in UCL. The matter of fact is if Napoli, Atalanta and Milan don’t lose the remaining three games, Juve will certainly miss out on the Champions League.
