Serie A leaders Napoli will welcome the in-from title contenders Juventus to Naples this Friday, looking to continue their impressive season.

They have scored a league-high 12 home goals before the break.

The hosts have won their last three home games against Juventus.

They are Serie A’s top-scoring team with 39 goals.

Napoli

After a recent wobble, Napoli bounced back last time out as they recorded a 2-0 victory over ten-man Sampdoria on Sunday to get their title push back on track.

Goals from the in-form Victor Osimhen and Eljif Elmas gave the hosts the maximum points taking their season tally of points to 44 points. That puts them seven points ahead of the rest in the race for the title midway into their season, making them the so-called Winter Champions.

However, the Partenopei will be acutely aware that their battle to secure a first Serie A title since 1990 is far from over as they topped the table at the halfway stage back in 2017/18 and 2015/16, but in both seasons were surpassed by Friday opponents, Juventus.

Luciano Spalletti’s side will hope this story finally has a fairytale ending. With nine consecutive home victories, Napoli have indeed built solid foundations upon which their title push has been formed.

That’s mainly because they have scored a league-high 12 home goals before the break, and they will be eager to again start on the right foot in search of a fourth-successive home league win against Juve.

Possible Napoli starting lineup

Alex Meret, Giovanni Di Lorenzo, Min-Jae Kim, Juan Jesus, Mario Rui, Elif Elmas, Stanislav Lobotka, Andre Zambo Anguissa, Matteo Politano, Victor Osimhen, K. Kvaratskhelia.

Juventus

Massimiliano Allegri and Juventus will look to make it nine Serie A games unbeaten when they visit Naples this Friday.

The Italian coach has led his side out of their poor season start and once again proved his tactical brilliance by leading Juventus to a run of eight consecutive league wins. Those eight games were accompanied by eight clean sheets, despite the club’s ongoing injury crisis.

In fact, the Old Lady are just two clean sheets away from equalling their own Serie A record of ten back in 2015/16 and 2017/18. Their most recent 1-0 win over Udinese, combined with Milan’s late collapse against Roma, ensured they come into this tie sitting in second position.

A win here would see them move to within four points of Napoli at the Serie A summit. Their transformation has been remarkable for a club that many ruled out of the top-four race early this season.

But with their top-scorer, Dušan Vlahović, still out for at least another four games, the defence will likely once again be their main threat as they search for a fifth consecutive 1-0 away Serie A win. It could be a late show that seals Juventus the win, as none of the previous four have seen them score before the hour mark.

Possible Juventus starting lineup

Wojciech Szczesny, Danilo, Daniele Rugani, Alex Sandro, Weston McKennie, Fabio Miretti, Manuel Locatelli, Adrien Rabiot, Filip Kostic, Ángel di María, Moise Kean.

Injured: Dusan Vlahovic, Juan Cuadrado, Leonardo Bonucci, Kaio Jorge

Doubtful: Bremer, Mattia de Sciglio

Suspended: None
