Napoli

Napoli will look to continue their impressive run in all competitions when they welcome Torino to Naples this Saturday.

The hosts have enjoyed a strong start to the season, having won five out of their seven opening league games. They ensured that they went into the international break at the top of the league table after recording an impressive 2-1 win over AC Milan last time.

The result was their third away H2H win over AC Milan in a row and also extended their unbeaten run in all competitions to 13 games (W11, D2).

They come into this tie as arguably the most in-form team in the division with their impressive showing this season extending even to the Champions League where they have recorded two big wins, including a 4-1 win over Liverpool at home.

That win was part of their unbeaten start at home this campaign, with three wins in four games at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona showing that Luciano Spalletti’s side are ready to better their record of eleven league wins (D3, L5) at home last season.

Now with an 80% unbeaten rate as home league favourites since the start of last season (W13, D3, L4), confidence should be high going into this tie.

Possible Napoli starting line-up

Torino

After recording three wins and a draw in their opening five games of the season (L1), Torino’s positive start to the 2022/23 season has been spoiled by two consecutive defeats in their last two league outings.

The last of those defeats came against Sassuolo (1-0) and extended Torino’s goalless run to two games. Even the return of coach Ivan Jurić – who was back on the bench after missing two games due to pneumonia – didn’t prevent the hosts from recording such a poor outing that saw them fail to score in consecutive SA matches for the first time since October 2021.

Jurić will hope that the few bits of training he had organised during the international break will provide some improvements in his squad. He will also hope that his side’s performance in the last minutes is improved as Torino have now conceded five of their seven league goals this season in or after the 80th minute.

That’s a worry given the fact the visitors have conceded a goal within that period in their last three games at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona too (D1, L2). And so, to get their first win in 15 tries against Napoli will require a special performance from the Turin-based team who are currently sitting in ninth position.

Possible Torino starting line-up

Vitaly Milinkovic-Savić; Buongiorno, Perr Schuurs, Ricardo Rodriguez; Stephane Singo, Sasa Lukic, Karol Linetty, Valentino Lazaro; Nikola Vlasic, Nemanja Radonjic, Antonio Sanabria.

Injured: Pietro Pellegri, Mergim Vojvoda, Samuele Ricci
