AC Milan will continue their title defence this Sunday when they travel to Turin to face Torino in the 12th Round of the 2022/23 Serie A season.

Venue: Stadio Olimpico di Torino (Turin)

Key Statistics

Torino have not won back-to-back Serie A games since January this year.

They have scored the fewest number of goals for any Serie A team at home this season.

The hosts have kept just one clean sheet in their last nine league games.

AC Milan are undefeated in 17 away SA fixtures (W12, D5), the longest such streak across Europe’s top five leagues.

The visitors have won their last four Serie A games.

They have scored four goals in each of their last two games in all competitions.

Head to head

Torino have failed to score across the last six H2H meetings with AC Milan (D1, L5).

Torino

Torino will look to make it two league wins in a row for the first time since January when they welcome Serie A defending champions AC Milan to Turin.

The hosts ended a run of five games without a league win last time out when they defeated Udinese 2-1. Goals from Ola Aina and Pietro Pellegrini either side of an equaliser by Gerard Deulofeu gave Ivan Juric’s men all three points and made sure they left Dacia Arena with their second consecutive win in all competitions following a 4-0 win over Cittadella in the Coppa Italia last week.

The result means that they come into this tie sitting in tenth position, eight points from the relegation zone but seven points from the European spots.

Their hopes of recording back-to-back league wins in this game will probably be dashed by a poor record in this fixture. The Turin club are winless in their last six H2H meetings with AC Milan, (D1, L5) failing to score across that period.

They have also recorded the fewest home SA goals of the season (just five) and might find it hard to contain an AC Milan side that have scored eight in their last two games.

Possible Torino starting line-up

V. Milinković-Savić; David Zima, Perr Schuurs, A. Buongiorno; Ola Aina, Sasa Lukic, Samuele Ricci, Valentino Lazaro; Alexey Miranchuk, Nikola Vlasic; Pietro Pellegri.

AC Milan

After a patchy run of form that saw them lose three times in five competitive outings, AC Milan continued their resurgence on Tuesday with a 4-0 win over Croatian club Dinamo Zagreb in the UEFA Champions League.

Just when it looked like their UCL destiny was over after back-to-back losses to Chelsea, Milan produced arguably their best show in Europe this season, with goals from Matteo Gabbia, Raphael Leao, Olivier Giroud and an own goal from the hosts sealing the win and ensuring the Stefano Pioli’s side still have control of their European destiny.

They will now turn their attention to their defence of the Scudetto title, which looked like it was slipping from their hands recently when they were beaten by Napoli while drawing with Atalanta.

But Milan are once again in the title picture after winning four league matches in succession since their loss to Napoli. They beat Monza 4-1 in their last league outing to climb second in the table, three points behind Napoli.

So they will travel to Turin high in confidence and looking to extend their 17-game unbeaten record away from home in the league. But with just one clean sheet from their last seven SA fixtures (W6, L1), outscoring their opponents of the day with a powerful attacking arsenal continues to be the strategy. They will need that firepower to get past Torino here, as seven of their last 11 league visits have ended in a draw (W2, L2).

Possible AC Milan starting line-up

Anton Tatarusanu; Sergino Dest, Simon Kjaer, Fikayo Tomori, Theo Hernandez; Tommaso Pobega, Ismael Bennacer; Brahim Diaz, Ante Rebic, Rafael Leao, Olivier Giroud.

Injured: Alessandro Florenzi, Alexis Saelemaekers, Zlatan Ibrahimovic
