Hellas Verona

Hellas Verona will play host to Serie A Champions AC Milan when Stefano Pioli takes his side to the Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi.

Verona have been one of the worst sides in Serie A this season with just one win, two draws and six losses after nine rounds of football. Their poor run of form culminated in the sacking of Gabriele Cioffi, who left the club sitting in 18th place in the Serie A table.

Salvatore Bocchetti looks set to take over from the sacked coach, albeit on a temporary basis.

The interim manager will be keen to get his tenure off to a good start when Stefano Pioli’s side come into town.

Hellas Verona come into this game off the back of a 2-1 defeat to Salernitana last weekend and now face a daunting task coming up against the defending Champions.

However, with the champions showing signs of a decline in recent weeks with one win in their last three games in all competitions, Hellas Verona may stand a chance of getting a good result against Stefano Pioli’s side.

Possible Verona starting line-up

Lorenzo Montipo; Isak Hien, Koray Gunter, Martin Hongla; Fabio Depaoli, Adrien Tameze, Simone Verdi, Miguel Veloso, Josh Doig; Ajdin Hrustic, Thomas Henry.

Injured: None

Doubtful: None

Suspended: Federico Ceccherini

AC Milan

AC Milan saw their Champions League knockouts qualification slip further away from them with a 0-2 loss to Chelsea in midweek.

Their loss at the San Siro was their second consecutive loss to the Blues, having lost the first leg in London. AC Milan now sit in third place in Group E two points behind second-placed RB Salzburg

Stefano Pioli’s side were utterly beaten by Chelsea, albeit with a harsh red card to Fikayo Tomori, meaning the Rossoneri had to play with ten men for the majority of the game.

AC Milan will now look to bounce back from their defeat to the Blues when they travel to Verona.

The Rossoneri secured an impressive 2-0 win against Juventus last weekend and will be out to make it three wins in a row in the Italian top flight as they continue their title defence.

AC Milan have been utterly dominant in this fixture and are yet to taste defeat in their last five meetings. With such dominance over The Yellow and Blues, AC Milan will fancy their chances of getting all three points at the Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi.

Possible AC Milan starting line-up

Anton Tatarusanu; Sergino Dest, Pierre Kalulu, Fikayo Tomori, Theo Hernandez; Sandro Tonali, Ismael Bennacer; Tommaso Pobega, Brahim Diaz, Rafael Leao; Olivier Giroud.

Injured: Alessandro Florenzi, Zlatan Ibrahimović, Davide Calabria, Simon Kjaer, Mike Maignan, Charles De Ketelaere

Doubtful: None

Suspended: None
