Tottenham picked up a 3-1 win away from home in the Premier League earlier.

Goals from Son and Kane sealed a vital win for Jose Mourinho’s side who are now up to 7th in the league table. Matt Ritchie scored the only goal for Newcastle.

The Londoners can qualify for the Europa League if they can finish the season strongly now.

A top four finish might be beyond them though and they will need a massive slice of luck to qualify for the Champions league.

The defeat leaves Newcastle 13th in the table with 43 points and they have now lost their last three league games.

Bruce would have expected a lot more from his players and he will be disappointed with the showing today.

Spurs came into this game with the objective of picking up the three points and Mourinho will be happy with his team’s performance.

The Londoners have shown improvement since Mourinho’s arrival and they will look to finish on a high now.

Newcastle lacked urgency against Tottenham and they were rightfully punished.

The Magpies made poor decisions on the ball and they failed to put the away side under pressure. Defensively, Newcastle were careless and the likes of Son and Kane managed to make the most of that.

Newcastle take on Brighton in their next game and Spurs will host Leicester City at home.
