Thomas Tuchel: Kylian Mbappe to start against RB Leipzig

Thomas Tuchel Kylian Mbappe can start against RB Leipzig

The German manager has said that Mbappe can start in the UCL semi-final.

PSG manager Thomas Tuchel has stated that Kylian Mbappe could feature in the starting line-up for the Champions League clash against RB Leipzig

The Ligue 1 champions will face Julian Naglesmann’s side in the semi-finals.

Ahead of the clash, when Tuchel was asked whether Mbappe would feature in the starting eleven, he replied:

“Yes, he played 30 minutes against Atalanta and had no problems with his ankle.”

“Since then he has had six days to recover, he will train and if there is the possibility for him to start we will see if he can play the 90 minutes. We’ll decide if it starts or if he comes into play (from the bench).”

The French World Cup winner remained a doubter for the quarter-final against Atalanta after he had suffered an ankle injury last month.

However, Mbappe recovered in no time and came off the bench in the quarter-finals, where PSG emerged victorious.

The presence of 21-year-old felt straightaway as he reduced the burden of his strike partner Neymar Jr, who had been sublime throughout the game.

Les Parisiens created history after defeating Atalanta as the French Champions booked their place in the Champions League in the semi-finals in one-and-a-half-decade.

They are now awaiting the Bundesliga outfit Leipzig, another surprise contender in the competition.

PSG have already won as many as three domestic titles this season and set their sights on long-evading UCL glory.
