Pogba has set the Euro 2020 alight with some impressive performances.

Paul Pogba has been in unstoppable form in Euro 2020, playing an integral role in the France national team like never before.

Starting from the Germany game, the Manchester United midfielder put on an outstanding performance. Against Portugal in the final group stage game, he was once again spotless in the midfield, setting up Benzema’s goal with an eye-catching through ball.

As France gears up for the last-16 clash against Switzerland, manager Didier Deschamps has spoken highly of Pogba and explained the freedom he enjoys with the national team.

Deschamps said: ” Paul is a complete midfielder. He has that quality of passing; it’s his game. You have to have the right movement. He has a fairly free role. He is not limited on the offensive aspect; his position can change, it de. It’s on the placement and movement of other players.”

France have often fielded a three-man midfield so far in the tournament, with Adrien Rabiot and N’Golo Kante being Pogba’s partners.

The former Juventus midfielder has been highly relieved of the defensive duties at the national team due to the robust presence of Kante and Rabiot. Hence Pogba can exhibit his skills at ease.

Deschamps had earlier defended the criticism of Pogba regarding his difference in form between the club and country, stating that the midfielder is a born leader.

The 27-year-old has had a disappointing campaign with Man Utd, failing to win any trophies. However, his rich vein of form is helping Les Bleus a lot, and he will look to make up for a rather ordinary season at the club level by winning the Euros.
