Macarthur FC

Macarthur FC will look to get back to winning ways when they welcome the league leaders to the capital on Saturday.

The hosts come into this tie on the back of a disappointing 4-2 loss to Central Coast Mariners. Before that loss, they were sitting comfortably in fourth place, at least two points ahead of the chasing pack. But with the loss, they come into this tie sitting one point ahead of Melbourne Victory in fifth.

With nine points separating them and the top two, they still have time to catch up. And given that they still have nine games to play this season, they will fancy their chances of catching up.

But they will have to begin with a win against a Melbourne City side they have never defeated in the league.

Possible Macarthur FC starting line-up

Nicholas Suman; Adrian Mariappa, James Meredith, Tomislav Uskok; Liam Rose, Charles M’Mombwa, Moudi Najjar, Craig Noone; Daniel De Silva, Lachlan Rose, Tommy Oar.

Injured: Tomi Juric

Doubtful: None

Melbourne City

After an indifferent start to the season, Melbourne City have picked up from where they left off last season when it mattered the most.

The Premier winners and defending champions come into this tie on the back of a 2-1 win over Brisbane Roar last time out.

The win extended their unbeaten run in the league to eight games and also put them in a commanding position at the top of the table. Although they have played two games more than second-placed Western United, they are three points ahead of them and with a more healthy goal difference.

Given the form of their rivals and title contenders, the visitors will be confident of ending the season top of the table. They have just six games to do so and will be desperate to win this game to ensure that they end the weekend top of the table.

Possible Melbourne City starting line-up

Tom Glover; Jordan Bos, Jordon Hall, Curtis Good, Kerrin Stokes; Aiden O’Neill, Taras Gomulka, Florin Berenguer; Raphael Borges Rodrigues, Andrew Nabbout, Stefan Colakovski.

Injured: None

Unavailable: Jamie Maclaren, Marco Tilio, Connor Metcalfe

Suspended: None
