Barcelona signed Sergino Dest this summer and the Spanish club now have two Americans at their disposal for the first time in 121 years.
The other American at the club is Konrad de la Fuente. The youngster has been a part of La Masia for several years and he is close to breaking onto the first team scene now.
Konrad joined the Spanish club’s Academy when he was 12 years old.
It will be interesting to see if the two Americans can make their mark at the Spanish club in the coming seasons.
Meanwhile Barcelona will be hoping to exploit the US market commercially with the help of the two American players.
It remains to be seen whether Ronald Koeman can get the best out of the two young players in the coming years.
Barcelona have a fantastic youth setup that has yielded world class players year after year and it will be interesting to see if they can groom the American duo properly now.
Both players have immense potential and they could develop into top class stars in future.
Konrad is expected to make his national team debut soon and he will be hoping to force his way into Koeman’s plans this season.
