Everton looking to sign former Liverpool midfielder Philippe Coutinho for a fee of around £35 million

Former Liverpool midfielder Philippe Coutinho is expected to return to the Premier League this summer.

According to reports, the midfielder will cost around £35 million, and Everton are keen on signing him.

Apparently, the Merseyside outfit are confident of landing the Brazilian playmaker, and they have already started searching for a house for him.

Coutinho was one of the best players in the Premier League during his time with Liverpool, but his move to Barcelona has been a massive disappointment.

The Brazilian has struggled to hold down a regular starting berth at the Spanish club, and he was loaned out to Bayern Munich eventually.

It will be interesting to see if he can regain his form and confidence at Everton next season.

Working with a world-class manager like Carlo Ancelotti could certainly help him restore his confidence.

The Italian manager has helped James Rodriguez perform at a high level this season, and he could have a similar impact on Coutinho’s game as well. The midfielder needs a manager like Ancelotti, who will trust in his ability and allow him to play regularly.

However, it will be interesting to see how the fans accept him, given his history with their cross-town rivals Liverpool.

The Brazilian midfielder was adored at Anfield, and it will be pretty surprising if he decides to accept the offer from Everton and move to Goodison Park this summer.

Coutinho was heavily criticized for the way he forced a move out of Liverpool, and joining Everton now would certainly burn the bridges with the Liverpool fans.
