Juventus 4-0 Lecce: Juventus edging closer towards Serie A title win

Juventus 4-0 Lecce Juventus edging closer towards Serie A title win

Juventus picked up a comfortable 4-0 win over Lecce in Serie A last night.

Cristiano Ronaldo, Paulo Dybala, Matthijs de Ligt and Gonzalo Higuain scored to seal the three points for the Italian giants.

Juventus are now edging closer towards another title win. They are currently seven points clear at the top of the table with Lazio in second place.

The home side were in control right from the first whistle and things went from bad to worse for the visitors on the 32nd minute when Fabio Lucioni got a straight red card for a poor challenge.

Juventus looked at ease against ten men and they took the lead on the 53rd minute. Paulo Dybala smacked one in on the top corner and Cristiano Ronaldo doubled Juventus’ lead nine minutes later from the penalty spot.

Higuain scored the third goal seven minutes from time and then Matthijs de Ligt added the fourth with a close-range header.

Maurizio Sarri’s men are in control of the title race now and it seems inevitable that they will defend their crown once again.

Before the lockdown, Lazio were in impressive form and they were breathing down Juventus’ neck. However, they seem to have collapsed post-resumption. Their momentum is lost and they find themselves seven points behind the leaders.

It is highly unlikely that they will get back into the race now.

Juventus are an experienced team who have players with immense quality. They are also used to challenging for the title every year. They have the experience to see it through till the end now.
