Inter Milan were held to a 2-2 draw against Roma in the Serie A last night.
They will be relieved to have come away with a point from the game. Romelu Lukaku scored two minutes from time to level the scores. A Roma win would have have been disastrous for Antonio Conte’s side.
The Italian manager will be furious with his team’s lackluster performance on the night and it will be interesting to see if Inter can finish the season strongly.
Inter would have wanted to close the gap with league leaders Juventus but this is a significant blow to their title hopes. They are five points behind the Turin giants, who host Lazio on Monday. With four games left, Inter could have caught up with a bit of luck had they won last night.
Spinazzola scored Roma’s first goal but it was Inter Milan who took the lead in the game. Stefan de Vrij powered home from a corner in the 15th minute.
Roma scored their second to go ahead in the 57th minute when Mkhitaryan found the net.
Spinazzola’s moment of recklessness handed Inter a penalty later and Lukaku sent Pau Lopez the wrong way to score his 21st league goal of the season.
Roma will be disappointed to have conceded two avoidable goals. They were the better team on the night and could have easily won on another day.
