Barcelona closing in on Raphinha after €72m proposal

Raphinha-Leeds United

Barcelona are closing in on a deal to sign Leeds United winger Raphinha this summer.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Spanish giants have made a verbal proposal to the Premier League club for the Brazilian winger worth around 72 million Euros.

Apparently, the English club will accept the offer once an official bid is submitted.

The player is thought to be desperate for a move to the La Liga club, and it is his biggest dream to play for the Catalan giants.

Raphinha has been a key player for Leeds since arriving from France, and he could be a solid long-term addition to Xavi Hernandez’s side.

The 25-year-old has proven his quality in the Premier League with Leeds, and he will be looking to take a step up in his career now. A player of his calibre deserves to play in the Champions League, and Barcelona will provide him with the platform to further his development.

Raphinha has the potential to develop into a world-class player, and playing alongside better teammates at the Spanish club will only help him improve.

He will add pace, flair and creativity in the final third for the Spanish giants.

It will be interesting to see how Barcelona accommodate him in their starting lineup next season, especially with Ousmane Dembele expected to sign a new deal as well.

The Frenchman has been offered an extension, and he has already accepted the offer. The agreement will be made official soon.

Raphinha helped Leeds beat relegation last season, and Leeds will have to bring in a top-class replacement now.

The player was linked with Chelsea as well, but Barcelona have always been in the driving seat, and they will be delighted to have won the race for his signature.
