De Bruyne helped Manchester City win the Premier League and the Carabao Cup last season and he was undoubtedly one of the finest players across Europe.

On the other hand, Jorginho helped his club win the Champions League and then proceeded to win the European Championships with this country.

Kante also played a key role in Chelsea winning the Champions League last season.

All three players are undoubtedly deserving of their place in the shortlist for the UEFA men’s player of the year award and it will be interesting to see who ends up winning the prestigious accolade.

The winner is set to be announced during the men’s Champions League draw ceremony on the 26th of August.

As far as the managers are concerned, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel and the Italian national team coach Roberto Mancini have been nominated for the men’s award.

Guardiola did an exceptional job and helped Manchester City dominate English football once again last season. Meanwhile, Tuchel took over during the mid-season and transformed Chelsea.

The Blues were struggling under Lampard but he helped them recover their form and win the Champions League.

As far as Mancini is considered, Italy dominated the Euros and won the title deservedly. He also transformed the country’s traditional playing style into a more exciting brand of football.
