Hertha 0-1 Bayern: Coman’s strike proves decisive in snow-curtailed Bundesliga game

Kingsleu Coman-Bayern Munich

Bayern weathered the storm to secure another three points and extend an unassailable lead at the top.

Bayern Munich managed to beat Hertha Berlin away in the backdrop of snow-capped field and wild weather conditions.

Kingsley Coman scored the only goal of the game in the 21st minute, with his shot taking a little deflection. Robert Lewandowski had a great chance to put Bayern up in the front foot but failed miserably from the penalty spot. It was quite strange to see an in-form striker like Lewandowski, who is miles ahead in the scoring charts, miss a penalty.

Shortly after the penalty miss, the hosts could have scored an equaliser were it not for Cunha’s header to fly wide over the post.

Besides, Coman’s importance continues to grow with each passing week and Bayern are starting to feel it as well. The French winger has racked up a total of three goals and 9 assists in Bundesliga this season.

The win allowed Bayern to extend their league at the top of the table with 10 points and they will take on Al Ahly in the Club World Cup semifinals on Monday.

With Bayern CEO Rummenigge confirming that Hansi Flick would remain as the manager for next season amid exit rumours, Flick has come up with another win following their victory against Hoffenheim last week.

Rummenigge also added that winning the Club World remains a priority for Bayern, having won a continental treble last term.
