Leicester City have agreed on a deal to sign the Atalanta full back Timothy Castagne.

The Belgian defender has been linked with a move to the Premier League for a while now and it will be interesting to see how he performs in England now.

Leicester City recently sold Ben Chilwell to Chelsea for a fee of £50 million and it remains to be seen whether Castagne replaces him in the starting lineup next year.

Chilwell was a left back but Castagne is naturally a right sided defender. Leicester City already have a quality right back in Ricardo Pereira and their decision to sign Castagne is slightly surprising.

According to reports, the Premier League side will pay around £22 million for the defender and the player has already completed his medical with the club.

Speaking to the media about his move to Leicester City, Castagne claimed that he likes the way the Foxes play and he has been in regular contact with manager Brendan Rodgers.

He said“It’s always been my dream to play in the Premier League. It was my priority in terms of leagues compared to the other offers. I also like the style of play at Leicester, which should suit me. I also had a very good feeling with the manager. He contacted me regularly”.

If he manages to adapt quickly doing a football, he could prove to be a very useful player for Leicester next season.
