Liverpool star Diogo Jota likens Salah to Cristiano Ronaldo

Jota says his Liverpool team-mate Mohamed Salah is close to reaching the level of Ronaldo.

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah‘s imperious form this season has seen him being considered as one of the world’s best players in the world.

The Egyptian international has racked up 15 goals and 7 assists for the Reds so far and also leads the Premier League’s goal and assists charts.

His impeccable consistency has led to the comparison with Cristiano Ronaldo by the fellow Liverpool attacker Diogo Jota.

Jota claims that Salah is in the same vein as his Portuguese teammate Ronaldo.

Jota said (h/t Goal): “A great player, world-class. He is showing his technique to the world this season.

“He is scoring goals for fun. Great goals, individual goals, and for us this is helpful because we have someone on the field who can decide the game, and for the opponents they know they need to be careful and we can then take the spaces that they leave because they are too worried about him.

“I had that first feeling when I played for the national team with Ronaldo and I think I can put him (Salah) up there to the same standards, though Ronaldo has been doing it for a very long time,” he added. “When they are on the field they are dangerous and can score at any time. And for me that is very useful as I can watch and learn from them.”

Jurgen Klopp’s side’s undefeated run this season was ended by West Ham on Sunday. Liverpool are currently fourth in the league table with 23 points, a point behind Hammers.
