Liverpool News: Traore deal almost done, Salah’s Egypt stance

Adama Traore-Wolves

Liverpool closing in on Adama Traore

Liverpool are reportedly closing in on a deal to sign Wolves winger Adama Traore as Jurgen Klopp plans to reinforce his attack ahead of the next season.

The Spanish winger has been long linked with a move to Anfield, with Klopp said to be a big fan of him. The 25-year-old could be the next player to follow Diogo Jota from Wolverhampton.

However, Traore’s recent form could be a real concern as he hasn’t made any goal contributions in the Premier League this season and looks like a shadow of his former self.

Salah to represent Egypt at the summer Olympics

The Reds forward Mohamed Salah is likely to represent the Egyptian national team at this summer’s delayed Olympics, with his stance being reiterated by U-23 manager Shawky Gharib.

“The only senior player who has been chosen is Mohamed Salah, he’s one of the best three players in the world. The remaining choices will depend on the team’s needs.”

Salah has been one of the few positives in what turns out to be a lacklustre season for the Reds, with the 28-year-old finding the nets 17 times in the Premier League.

Mohamed Salah will be the only overage player in Egypt’s Olympics squad. Should Salah eventually feature, he will be unavailable for #LFC from July 23 to August 8 and will miss both the pre-season plus the opening weeks of the 2021-22 campaign. #awlfc [goal]
