Juventus have picked up an important away win against Sampdoria to move to the third position in the table.

Juventus have jumped to the third place in the Serie A table after a comprehensive 2-0 away win against Sampdoria, with Federico Chiesa and Aaron Ramsey finding the score sheet.

While it remains far from being a  convincing season for Andrea Pirlo, Juventus look to slowly force their way to return to the place where they belong in the Italian top-flight.

Despite the defeat against Inter Milan, the Old Lady have followed up with a win in the Supercoppa Italiana final against Napoli, which helped them clinch the title. They went on to win the games against Bologna and midweek’s fixture against SPAL in the Coppa Italia quarter-final.

Cristiano Ronaldo returned to the starting line-up and it provided a huge boost for the Bianconeri.

Federico Chiesa put the visitors ahead in the 20th minute after a brilliantly worked team goal. Starting from Rodrigo Bentancur’s through ball before Ronaldo and Alvaro Morata teamed up to feed the on-rushing Chiesa, who netted the ball from close range.

Chiesa has grown in stature for Juve after finding the nets consistently in the last few games. To be precise, the former Fiorentina man has a racked up five goals this season with four of them coming in January alone.

Ronaldo had a huge chance denied by Sampdoria defender Maya Yoshida, who made a vital interception right before the end of the first half.

The Old Lady continued to dominate the second half as substitute Aaron Ramsey capped off the game with a goal in the injury time.
