Borussia Dortmund produced one of their most dramatic games of the season last time out as they held fierce rivals Bayern Munich to a 2-2 draw in the Bundesliga.
In an entertaining game at the Westfalenstadion on Saturday, Bayern Munich led by two goals up until the 73rd minute. But a fine goal by teenage sensation Youssoufa Moukoko and a last-minute goal by Anthony Modeste ensured that the spoils were shared.
The result ended a run of seven consecutive losses against Bayern Munich and also extended Dortmund’s unbeaten run at home to four games. Having taken six points from their opening three UCL group games, the hosts can seal a place in the round of 16 of this competition with two games to spare if they can get maximum points here.
Such a feat will please Edin Terzic, who will be desperate to tidy up with the UCL so that he can also pursue a repeat of the DFB-Pokal silverware he won in 2020/21 as caretaker manager, especially with his side’s next cup engagement also just around the corner.

Sevilla began life after Julen Lopetegui with a 1-1 draw against Athletic Bilbao last time out.
The Europa League-winning coach Lopetegui was relieved of his duties at the Ramon Sanchez after his side lost 4-1 at home to Dortmund last time out. The result was the last straw that broke the camel’s back, as a poor run of form that saw Sevilla take one win in ten games was the major reason for Lopetegui’s dismissal.
In his place, Sevilla have so far hired Jorge Sampaoli for the second time in his career. The former Marseille boss was in charge over the weekend as Sevilla held on to get a valuable point against Athletic Club in a 1-1 draw.
Sampaoli has promised a “reconstruction” of the team whose scoreless draw away to Copenhagen is their only point in this UCL group stage. How he fares in comparison with his predecessor Lopetegui will be an interesting indication of the immediate direction the club is heading in.
However, one key area Sampaoli has to address and correct is his side’s second-half efforts. The Andalusian club have not ‘won’ the second half of football in any competition this season (2H: D3, L8), even when winning 3-2 away at Espanyol last month. But they will travel to Westfalenstadion in decent away form, having now gone three away games without defeat (W1, D2).
