Rennes

Rennes host Chelsea in the Champions League this week and they will be hoping to pick up their first win of the group stages.

The French outfit have lost three and drawn one of their three group games so far and they are third in the standings right now.

Rennes will need to get back to winning ways if they want to secure their place in the knockout rounds of the Champions League in the coming months and it will be interesting to see if they can pick up a morale-boosting win over Chelsea.

Rennes Possible Lineup

Gomis, Traore, Silva, Aguerd, Truffert, Camavinga, Nzonzi, Bourigeaud, Terrier, Doku, Guirassy

Unavailable players

The home side will be without M’baye Niang, Faitout Maouassa, Daniele Rugani and Jonas Martin due to injury problems.

Dalbert is suspended after picking up a red card away to Chelsea in the reverse fixture earlier this month.

We need to be more aggressive against a team like Chelsea. We were able to do that in the reverse fixture, despite the negative result. We need to do the same again. Chelsea are an impressive team, they score a lot, they don’t concede many goals.

Chelsea

The Blues have picked up seven points from their three group games so far and they will be hoping to extend their lead at the top of Group E.

The Blues are favourites heading into this game and the fans will be expecting the players to step up and deliver.

Chelsea Possible Lineup

Mendy, James, Zouma, Silva, Chilwell, Kante, Kovacic, Jorginho, Werner, Abraham, Ziyech

Unavailable players

Chelsea will be without the injured Christian Pulisic for this game.

I have looked at the schedule and it is brutal. We play Arsenal on Boxing Day and then a game a few days later. We need to try to win this game and if we can step into the next round then we could rest players, but we still want to win the group. I am confident in the squad, even if we rotate.
