Defending champion and current Ligue 1 leaders Paris St-Germain fought back for a 4-4 draw against Amiens in Stade de la Licorne, coming from 0-3 down to 4-3 lead before conceding a late equaliser. Tanguy Kouassi, the centre-back, scored two goals for PSG.

Amiens, who are currently fighting to avoid relegation, took a 3-0 within 40 minutes into the match. Gael Kakuta set up a Serhou Guirassy for the opener before scoring a brilliant second goal himself. Fousseni Diabate added a third for the host.

Ander Herrera volleyed in before the break, Tanguy Kouassi scored two headers from corner kicks from both the ends and Mauro Icardi tapped home to put the Paris side into 4-3 lead. But Guirassy’s late goal ensure a justifiable 1 point for Amiens.

PSG, left out both Kylian Mbappe and injured Neymar out of squad today, but named an otherwise strong team, starting with Cavani, Icardi and di Maria.

Manager Thomas Tuchel had already walked down the tunnel to prepare his half-time speech after witnessing a first-half demolition when Herrera, who was playing at right-back, pulled one back.

Kouassi, a 17-year-old defender, scored his first two league goals from Julian Draxler and Angel di Maria corners and Icardi finished from Juan Bernat’s low cross.

But in injury time, Amiens rescued a sensational draw as Quentin Cornette picked out Guirassy in the centre to slot home.

PSG are now 13 points clear of second-placed Marseille, who travel to Lille on Sunday, while Amiens remain in 19th position. PSG will visit Dortmund for the Champions League last 16 on Tuesday.
