Atletico Madrid rejected a massive offer for their attacker Joao Felix before the Coronavirus pandemic.

As per reports, an unnamed English club offered £136m for the Portuguese ace.

Felix is a world class talent and it is no surprise that the top teams want to sign him. However, the reported bid is humongous and only a few clubs in the world can afford to pay that much.

In England, Manchester City and Manchester United can pay such an amount for a player. Although the report has not mentioned who the club is, it is safe to assume that City or United could be the suitor.

Felix has had a mixed season with Atletico so far but he has shown glimpses of his talent already.

With time he could develop into a star for Diego Simeone’s side.
It will be interesting to see whether his suitors return with another massive offer for him anytime soon.

The Coronavirus pandemic has had a major financial impact on European football and it is highly unlikely that anyone will spend that much on one player this summer.

Furthermore, the Spanish outfit do not seem keen on selling either. Otherwise the first offer wouldn’t have been turned down. Atletico Madrid spent £122m on the forward and they will demand much more than that when they decide to sell him.

He was signed with the money Atletico recouped from Antoine Griezmann’s sale to Barcelona.
