Wolverhampton Wanderers picked up an impressive win at home over Crystal Palace last night.
Nuno’s side will be looking to book their place in Europe next year and they need to finish their season strongly in order for that to happen.
Wolves are now up to sixth place after their comfortable 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace. They have now overtaken Spurs and it will be interesting to see if Mourinho’s men manage to qualify for Europe.
The Londoners started the game well but eventually their efforts fizzled out. Wolves gained control of the game and finished off their opponents with precise attacks.
Jeffrey Schlupp came close to giving the visitors the lead but he fired wide 27 minutes in.
Four minutes before half time, Daniel Podence scored his first ever Premier League goal to give the hosts their lead. Moutinho’s exceptional pass found Doherty, who squared it for the Wolves new boy.
Wolves doubled their advantage on the 68th minute after Adama Traore dribbled past two players and set up Jonny, who fired past Vicente Guaita.
Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha did well to keep his side in the game but Rui Patricio managed to keep him quiet in the end.
Wolves have now picked up 59 points so far this season. On the other hand, Palace stay 14th with 42 points after a seventh straight defeat.
Hodgson will be bitterly disappointed with his team’s miserable run and it will be interesting to see if the Eagles can finish strongly now.
