Chelsea keen on Havertz, amid Man United interest

Chelsea keen to sign Leverkusen forward Kai Havertz

Chelsea have been linked with a move for Kai Havertz this summer.

The Blues announced a deal to sign Timo Werner from RB Leipzig yesterday and the fans called for them to sign Havertz as well.

The Bayer Leverkusen attacker liked the tweet asking Chelsea to ‘announce Havertz’. Such a move from the German has excited the Chelsea fans now.

Havertz’ decision to like the tweet linking him to Chelsea was probably a bit of fun but it is understandable why the fans are excited.

It will be interesting to see if the Blues can sign Havertz this summer. The Leverkusen star is a top-class player who has all the tools to develop into a world-beater.

If Chelsea can snap him up now, he could turn them into a force.

The Blues need to improve their attacking options in order to compete with Liverpool and Manchester City next season. They have already signed Werner and Ziyech to bridge the gap.

Bringing in Havertz would improve them immensely.

Havertz has been linked with Bayern Munich and Real Madrid as well this summer. But the Bundesliga and La Liga giants have reportedly dropped out, Chelsea could face competition for Leverkusen forward from Manchester United.

Whoever wants to sign the youngster will have to pay big money and all three clubs linked with Havertz have the resources to do.

Furthermore, the FFP rules have been relaxed for the next 12 months and that will allow clubs to spend more without worrying about the need to balance their books.
