Fiorentina 2-3 AC Milan: Ibrahimovic returns from injury to lead a comeback win

Zlatan Ibrahimovic-Inter Milan

AC Milan picked up a 3-2 win over Fiorentina in the Italian League earlier tonight.

Star striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic returned to the starting line up after his injury lay off and the Swedish international struck the first goal of the game on the 9th minute.

Ibrahimovic became the oldest player to score 15 goals in a Serie A season at the age of 39 years and 169 days.

Fiorentina got back into the game through Erick Pulgar on the 17th minute and Franck Ribery handed the home side the lead on the 51st minute.

Milan did well to come back into the contest through Brahim Diaz and then Hakan Calhanoglu wrapped up the scoring on the 72nd minute to secure all three points for the away side.

The fans will be pleased with the fightback shown by AC Milan tonight but the visitors will have to improve defensively if they want to keep fighting for the scudetto this year.

Stefano Pioli will be hoping that Alessio Romagnoli can return to action soon and help strengthen his side at the back.

The win tonight takes AC Milan up to second in the table with 59 points and they are six points adrift of cross-town rivals Inter Milan who are at the top of the table.

Meanwhile, Fiorentina dropped down to 14th in the League table with 29 points and they will have to raise their performance levels unless they want to get dragged into the relegation battle.

After a defeat and leaving the European competition, the Scudetto remain we wanted to win at all cost we showed our character and you have to continue

Zlatan Ibrahimovic, AC MIlan

Ibra is right to talk about the Scudetto. We must try to win them all, our future depends on us, we have the qualities to try to win every single match. All the matches will be difficult, we must try to insist.
