Real Madrid believe Varane’s exit could help them sign long-time target Kylian Mbappe

Real Madrid believe Raphael Varane's exit could help them to sign long-time target Kylian Mbappe. Mbappe's PSG contract will, though, expire in a year time.

As the French defender has agreed to join Manchester United, Real turn their attention towards Mbappe.

Real Madrid have recently parted ways with defender Raphael Varane, who has agreed to join Manchester United.

The French man’s departure will reportedly see Real earn around €50m, and the Spanish club’s next step is to use the funds for pursuing PSG ace Kylian Mbappe.

Real continues to be the long-term admirers of the French superstar, and they are trying their best to sign him this summer.

The 22-year-old also appears to be against signing a new deal with Les Parisiens as his current contract expires next summer, meaning that he will be a free agent in a year if he decides to play out his contract.

Paris Saint-Germain are keen to avoid such a scenario and are said to be preparing an audacious new offer to keep him at the club.

The La Liga giants are closely monitoring Mbappe’s situation, and they believe this summer could be an excellent opportunity to sign him.

However, PSG’s asking price of €180m seems to be far-fetched considering the current financial circumstances, yet Los Blancos are not put down with that.

The Spanish capital club are relying on the summer sales for generating funds, and many of the fringe players are placed on the chopping block.

It is becoming quite obvious there will be more departures at the Spanish capital in this transfer window following the exit of Sergio Ramos and Varane. Carlo Ancelotti has to be satisfied with his currently available resources.

Although Real have been regularly linked with Mbappe, there isn’t any contract interest as of now, which makes it an arduous task for Los Blancos to sign him.
