Roma 2-2 Juventus: Ronaldo’s brace rescued ten-man Juventus

Roma 2-2 Juventus Ronaldo's brace rescued ten-man Juventus

Juventus were held to 2-2 draw against Roma in Serie A.

Juventus have picked up a draw against Roma at Stadio Olimpico.

The hosts looked very dangerous in the opening half as they looked to expose Juve on the counter-attacks. Finally, Roma got their reward right in the half-hour mark as Adrien Rabiot conceded a cheap penalty, which Jordan Veretout made a meal of.

However, Cristiano Ronaldo found the equalizer at the brink of the break, scoring a flawless penalty.

Soon after, Veretout once again restored the lead as he completed his brace, this time benefitting from Henrik Mkhitaryan’s assist.

Rabiot couldn’t have imagined such a gruesome day at the office as he was sent off for the second yellow card around the hour mark.

While the odds have been stacked against Bianconeri, Cristiano Ronaldo pulled off a great header, resembling the one he did last season, to keep his side intact.

Edin Dzeko was presented with a chance to put the game to bed but to no avail in the end.

Juve managed to pick up a draw in the end despite being a man less for the final quarter of the game.

The credit duly goes to Ronaldo, who looks not to be stopping the habit of rescuing Juventus time and again.

The match also saw Arthur finally getting his call, coming as a substitute in the second half.

Andrea Pirlo would be pondering over what went wrong while Roma would be happy with the result after a bitter start to Serie A, losing against Hellas Verona in matchday 1.
