Zidane ready to leave Madrid after UCL failure.

Zinedine Zidane is said to be reportedly considering leaving Real Madrid after the Champions League failure against Chelsea.

Los Blancos got knocked out of the Champions League after losing to Thomas Tuchel’s side in the semi-finals.

The report adds that the French manager has grown weary of dragging the weakened Madrid side to the semi-finals of the UCL. He is also unhappy with the criticism from the fans, though he has kept Madrid alive in the title race.

It is also added that Los Blancos would try their best to convince Zidane if he were to leave this summer.

Florentino Perez, the president of the Spanish capital club, recently stated that Zidane is the best manager the club has had over the years.

Lineker takes a swipe at Madrid’s performance against Chelsea.

Los Blancos succumbed to 2-0 defeat in the second leg of the semi-finals against Chelsea, who won the tie on the aggregate score of 3-1.

The Londoners were the better side as Madrid failed to dominate possession and create more chances.

The defeat has led to criticism from former Barcelona player and English international Gary Linker.

Lineker tweeted: “Finally, Chelsea bury the semi-final.

“They’ve been excellent and a million miles the better side against the poorest Real Madrid team I think I’ve ever seen.”

Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand had also offered his thoughts on the defeat, saying that Madrid were weaker and older last night.

“Yes, they’ve [Real Madrid] got good players, but they looked tired tonight.

“They looked like an old team tonight, and Chelsea looked like a young team who were hungry.

“They could have won by about five or six goals tonight. We said before about them playing quick and in transition and breaking from midfield.

“[N’Golo] Kante did that for the first goal; they did in time and time again after that, and they got the job done.”
