In a much-awaited game against Clermont Foot 63, Gianluigi Donnarumma finally made his PSG debut, donning the jersey number 50. The Italian prodigy managed to keep a clean sheet in his first outing for the French giants, signalling a promising future.

Having recently achieved promotion, Clermont Foot could only muster two shots on target out of a possible 14. Donnarumma was successful in saving all the targets that reached him, keeping an inspired Clermont from scoring. Even though the 22-year-old shot-stopper was rarely troubled by Les Lanciers’ attackers, he managed to provide a solid performance on his debut.

French sensation Kylian Mbappe scored his third goal of the season, extending his world-class form in the league. In a surprising turn of events, central midfielder Ander Herrera got on the scoresheet twice. The Spaniard netted PSG’s first goal in the 20th minute and then doubled their lead in the 31st minute with a sublime finish. Senegalese midfielder Idrissa Gana Gueye wrapped up the scoring by adding a fourth goal in the 65th minute.

A promising start to the 2021-22 season by Clermont Foot was derailed by an unstoppable PSG side, handing the French minnows a humiliating 4-0 defeat. The Ligue 1 newcomers now sit in third place, with PSG maintaining their perfect start to the league. Mauricio Pochettino‘s side currently occupy the top spot, with a goal difference of 11.
