Manchester United News: Paul Pogba injury update

Pogba looks in despair after missing penalty

Paul Pogba has revealed he is working hard to regain his fitness for Premier League return after it was suspended due to Coronavirus pandemic.

The Manchester United midfielder has missed most of the season with different injuries and also had a surgery in January. He last appeared for United on Boxing Day against Newcastle. Pogba hasn’t started a game for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer since September.

As football currently suspended because of the social distancing rules to limit the coronavirus pandemic, Pogba got a chance to work on his fitness to make a comeback.

He is confident of getting fit and ready to play a key role for United when the Premier League is back.

I have a little home gym in my house. I can do some training, some running, some bike, go outside and do some things with the ball. I am just keeping busy and keeping healthy.

We have got to stay motivated, there is no other choice. It is a period and we don’t know until when it will be like this, but I still have goals in my head and one day hopefully this [pandemic] will stop.

And then we have to get back on the pitch, so we have to be ready. For myself, I have been out for a long time as well, so for me I just want to come back playing football.

Pogba also gave some fitness advice to those trying to stay in shape from home during the lockdown, with gyms around the country all closed at the time of writing.

My advice first of all is to stay safe, stay at home and keep practising, here is always a way to work, you can work with anything you have at home, you can still do sit-ups, push-ups.

For abdominals and core work, you don’t need weights and stuff like that. You just need the work.
