After Jota, Liverpool keen on signing 14-goal attacker from Portugal

Liverpool moves over Manchester United on trophy count

Liverpool are interested in signing this sporting winger Pedro Goncalves at the end of the season.

According to reports, the 22-year-old has been in excellent form this season and he has scored 14 goals in 15 League appearances.

The winger has managed to guide his side the five points clear at the top of the table and they could win their first League title since 2001.

Apparently the winger’s performances attracted Liverpool’s attention last month and the Reds could make a move at the end of the season.

The player has a £53 million release clause in his contract and it remains to be seen whether Liverpool are willing to splash that kind of money on him.

There is no doubt that Liverpool need to improve their attacking options in the summer and they have been overly reliant on their front three for years now.

The signing of Diogo Jota has certainly helped them but they need to bring in another quality wide player who can score goals and add creativity to their attack.

Goncalves is certainly talented and he is only 22. The winger is likely to get better with time and experience. The chance to work with a world-class manager like Jurgen Klopp would help him develop further and fulfilled his potential.

The likes of Mane and Firmino have been in very poor form this season and they need more competition next year. The Reds must look to bring in two attackers in the summer.
