Solskjaer receives Fernandes backing

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is under immense pressure after his side’s recent dip in form but midfielder Bruno Fernandes insists that the players are fully behind the Norwegian.

There have been reports that the players were doubtful of the manager and his coaching staff because of their recent run of form but the Portuguese international has rubbished such claims.

The Red Devils recently picked up a thrilling comeback win over Atalanta in the Champions League and they are now on top of their group.

Speaking to the media after the comeback win over Atalanta, Bruno Fernandes said to TNT Sports

“Of course, obviously, he is our coach. We follow him every day. We show that. We follow his ideas and we will continue to do so.

“We believe in our coach and our staff… we need to do what the coach tells us because our coach is the maximum exponent of what we must respect.

“He has been here for three years and we’ve done good things. It’s true that we haven’t won anything up to now, but the team has shown it has grown a lot.

“We have a lot to improve on and the coach also knows there has to be some improvement at their end but that is part of football. Every day we are learning something new. But football is the present and it’s the now.”

Sky journalist outlines Manchester United worry

Meanwhile, Sky Sports journalist Michael Bridge feels that something is not right at Manchester United at the moment.

The reporter has questioned the form of the Red Devils in recent weeks and he has highlighted some of the tactical choices and comments from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Bridge fields that the Norwegian is not aware of what his best team is and he is also struggling to keep his players happy.

He said to GIVEMESPORT: “He wants to play Greenwood, he wants to play Rashford. He promised Cavani he’d play more if he stayed, and now Cavani’s on the bench.

“It seems incredible that we’re questioning the Cristiano Ronaldo signing, but something at the moment isn’t right with Manchester United.”
