Chelsea could replace under fire Lampard with Thomas Tuchel

Tuchel has been sacked by French Giants PSG, confirmed by the club statement.

Chelsea have been linked with Thomas Tuchel, who has been relieved of his managerial duties by PSG, as they could look to replace under-fire Frank Lampard.

According to reports, Tuchel can make a quick return to the management as he has received 5.4 million pounds payoff, with Chelsea considering a move for the German manager.

While the reports emerged before Christmas that Tuchel was sacked, PSG have officially confirmed the decision now. Mauricio Pochettino is leading the line to be the next manager of the Ligue 1 Champions.

Elsewhere, Lampard finds himself in the hot seat after a string of poor results in recent weeks as the Blues’ impressive start to the season proved flattering to deceive.

The Londoners have suffered three defeats in the last four Premier League games, culminating in the 3-1 heavy defeat against Arsenal last week. Furthermore, their draw against Aston Villa last night has caused great disappointment among the fans.

Chelsea could be ready to get rid of the former English international should he fail to recover from the bad streak.

In such a case, Tuchel has been identified as a top replacement as he is said to be interested in taking the reins at Stamford Bridge. The former Dortmund boss will also have the chance to work with his fellow compatriots Timo Werner, Kai Havertz and Antonio Rudiger.

The Blues will face Manchester City in their next encounter and Lampard is under the immense pressure of picking a win to save his blushes.
