Everton plotting Barcelona raid, Ancelotti eyeing Frenchman

Carlo Ancelotti - Everton Manager

Everton have been linked with a move for the Barcelona defender Jean-Clair Todibo.

The 20 year old Frenchman needs to leave Barcelona in order to play regular first team football and a move to Merseyside could be ideal for his career right now.

Everton need to add more defensive depth and quality to their side and Carlo Ancelotti could help groom the young defender into a quality player.

Todibo has been linked with clubs like Wolverhampton Wanderers as well and it will be interesting to see if Everton can fend off the competition and secure his signature before the transfer window closes next month.

The Frenchman was on loan in Germany last year and he was quite impressive for Schalke. There is no doubt that he has the talent to succeed in the Premier League with Everton.

Barcelona are thought to be keen on cashing in on the player and it will be interesting to see if Everton agree to pay the asking price.

Ronald Koeman is planning a major rebuild at the Spanish club and players like Todibo are considered as expendables.

The Premier League side have had a fantastic transfer window so far and they have improved their midfield with the signings of Rodriguez, Allan and Doucoure. They will be hoping to wrap up an impressive transfer window by signing a quality defender now.

The Frenchman is highly talented and he has a big future ahead of him. Regular football and working under a world class manager like Carlo Ancelotti could help him achieve his potential.

Todibo could prove to be a smart long term investment for Everton this summer.
