Chelsea are interested in signing the Mexican winger Jesus Corona.
As per reports, Lampard’s first choice is Jadon Sancho but it could be difficult to land the England international this summer.
Corona is an alternative to Sancho. The 27-year-old has caught Chelsea’s attention with his performances at Porto.
It will be interesting to see if Chelsea make an offer for the player in the coming weeks.The player is valued at around £26m as per the report.
Corona can play as a full back as well and his versatility will be an added bonus for the Blues. The Mexican has two goals and 17 assists to his name so far this season and those are impressive numbers.
Jesus Chelsea could use some more creativity and flair in their side and Corona seems like an ideal fit. He is at the peak of his powers as well and he should be able to make an immediate impact if he joins.
With the likes of Pedro expected to leave this summer, Corona would be the ideal signing for Lampard’s side.
Even if they are able to sign Sancho, they should look to move for Corona as well.
Willian is not going to be around much longer and Chelsea must plan ahead and secure his replacement soon. As for Corona, he is likely to be tempted if a top club like Chelsea come calling.
The Blues have the finances to offer him a better contract than the one he is on at Porto as well.
