Ashley Young weighs in on the anti-Glazers campaign

Manchester United fans have been venting their frustrations lately on owners Glazers for their involvement in the European Super League, which saw the United faithful invade Old Trafford ahead of the game against Liverpool last week.

Now, Inter Milan defender Ashley Young, who represented the Red Devils between 2011 and 2020, has weighed in on the anti-Glazers campaign, stating that the anger of the fans is an old thing.

Young said: “This is going back years and years with the owners, and the fans want to make their point. You don’t want to see a protest getting violent; you just want to see a protest where [the owners] are aware and that they understand the anger the fans have got about things that have gone on in the past.

“It’s not right to see the violence in it, but the protesting is something the fans wanted to do, and they wanted to have their voices heard.

“United fans have been asking for change for a long while, so maybe we’ll see changes, maybe we won’t. I think there’s a lot of things in football that need to be addressed, and that is one of them.”

Glazers want to appease fans by signing Harry Kane and Jadon Sancho

United owners Glazers are reportedly plotting an ambitious double swoop worth £168m for Tottenham striker Harry Kane and Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho.

Glazers have been facing the wrath of fans in recent weeks, and hence they want to placate the situation by making some expensive signings.

Kane has been heavily linked with an exit following Spurs’ whirlwind season, whilst Dortmund chief has recently stated that Sancho can leave this summer.

The Red Devils are currently in the market for a new striker as they are not impressed with the inconsistency of Anthony Martial. Furthermore, Edinson Cavani has been linked with a move to Boca Juniors.

Spurs striker Kane has been identified as one of the targets alongside Erling Haaland.

Man Utd have been long linked with a move to Sancho as they came closer to signing him last summer before they got priced out in the end.

However, they are likely to face competition this time around from fellow Premier League rivals Chelsea and Liverpool.

Solskjaer not happy with Gary Neville’s anti-Glazer comments

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his coaching staff are seemingly unhappy with Gary Neville’s tirade on Glazers.

Neville previously said: “I’ve never thought they were brilliant owners, but I’ve always thought within football there are worse owners than the Glazer family.

“However, I think all football fans should unite today behind what Manchester United fans have done because honestly what [the Glazers] did two weeks ago was dangerous for English football – we must not forget that.”

However, Solskjaer believes that Neville’s statement persuaded United fans to protest at Old Trafford last week.

The Norwegian manager said: “When it becomes a police matter that’s not nice, and it has not been helped by specific individuals.

I have to say that’s another part of it, that’s your (the media’s) end of it.”
