Jose Mourinho wants Romero

Jose Mourinho is planning a transfer raid on his former club Manchester United when he takes over at Roma this summer.

The Portuguese manager was recently sacked by Tottenham Hotspur, and he was appointed as the new manager of the Italian club.

According to reports, Mourinho wants a reunion with Argentine goalkeeper Sergio Romero next season.

The 34-year-old has fallen down the pecking order at Old Trafford since the return of Dean Henderson, and he will have to leave in order to play regular first-team football next year.

It will be interesting to see if Mourinho can convince him to move to Italy in the summer and help him put together a winning squad at Roma.

The 34-year-old Argentine goalkeeper was a reliable option for Mourinho during his time at Old Trafford, and he would be an inexpensive signing for the Italian outfit.

His arrival would allow Roma to invest in the other areas of their squad while strengthening the goalkeeping department as well.

Tom Heaton to replace Sergio Romero

Meanwhile, Manchester United are already planning to replace Sergio Romero with the Premier League goalkeeper Tom Heaton.

The 35-year-old has done well for Aston Villa, but he has lost his starting berth since the signing of Emiliano Martinez.

Reports claim that the Red Devils are on the verge of signing the 35-year-old this summer, and it will be interesting to see if he can push the likes of David De Gea and Dean Henderson for a starting berth next season.

Heaton is a reliable Premier League goalkeeper who could be an option for Solskjaer in the cup games next season. Furthermore, De Gea has been linked with a move away this summer, and Heaton could be an alternative.
